Our Next Concert

 Join us on 8th November at 3pm for an autumn afternoon of poetry and song, performed by soprano Georgie Malcolm and pianist Paul St-Georges in the welcoming setting of Iffley Church Hall.

Their programme, Women Poets in Song, brings together musical settings of women’s poetry, including words by Emily Dickinson and Anna Akhmatova. From the vivid imagery of Copland’s Dickinson songs and the emotional intensity of Prokofiev’s Akhmatova settings to the elegance and colour of Poulenc, the recital explores love, nature, dreams and reflection. Familiar composers sit alongside less frequently heard voices in a programme celebrating the expressive possibilities of poetry and music.
